Discover Brussels
Brussels mixes monumental architecture with energetic neighbourhoods, ambitious museums and the practical role of an international transport hub. The city is worth more than a quick connection between trains.
Historic Grand-Place, Art Nouveau, food streets and major European institutions.

See the elaborate guildhall facades and explore adjoining lanes.
Magritte Museum
Discover Belgium’s surrealist legacy within the royal museums district.
Atomium
Visit this unmistakable landmark; a local transit ticket is normally needed.
Comic Strip Centre

A practical sightseeing plan
Spend a morning at Grand-Place, enjoy the art museums and dedicate a second half-day to a neighbourhood beyond the centre.
Pair the Grand-Place and nearby lanes with one museum or a contrasting neighbourhood. The European Quarter, Atomium and historic centre are separate outings rather than one short continuous walk.
Getting to Brussels by rail
Brussels-Central is handy for the historic core; Midi/Zuid hosts many international services and Nord serves others. Check the station on your itinerary.
Arrival point: Bruxelles-Central / Brussel-Centraal.
Check the exact train operator, any reservation requirement and the service's pass eligibility before you travel. The Benelux Pass does not cover travel beyond the participating network solely because a train begins or ends in the Benelux.
Bruxelles-Midi / Brussel-Zuid, Bruxelles-Central / Brussel-Centraal and Bruxelles-Nord / Brussel-Noord are different stations. Central is convenient for the old centre; international trains often use Midi. Brussels Airport station has an additional supplement.
Practical tips and timing
The city is bilingual; station names may appear in French and Dutch.
Check attraction opening arrangements, accessible entrances and the return journey for your actual travel date. Keep outdoor plans flexible when the weather changes, and allow a margin between a train arrival and any timed admission.
